Temple Chai Committees

The Budget/Finance Committee prepares the annual operating budget for the congregation, monitors revenues and expenditures and make recommendations to the Board regarding financial matters. The Budget/Finance Committee is also responsible for establishing appropriate financial policies and procedures.

The Cemetery Committee arranges for the sale and management of Temple Chai’s plots at Mission Park North.

Education & Ritual

The Education & Ritual Committee promotes educational and ritual activities and programs for the congregation and community, advising the rabbi and educator/soloist.  It also considers the rituals and observances of the synagogue and promotes such practices in the home to enhance the values of Jewish living.  The committee recruits member participation in services and arranges the schedule and variety of services for the year.

The mission of the Facilities Committee is to ensure that the congregation uses its space in the best and most efficient way possible to serve all needs, with collaborative input from members.  This includes determinations regarding layout, set-ups, furnishings, storage, and decorations.

All congregations need to fundraise in order to balance their budgets. Effective fundraising committees are vital to the life and financial well-being of synagogues.  Our Fundraising Committee helps Temple Chai to plan and execute fundraising activities in concert with the spirit and mission of the congregation.

The Membership Committee promotes activities to increase and retain the membership of Temple Chai, considers member’s requests for adjustments to annual commitments, and ensures that members are engaged throughout the year.

The Publicity Committee is responsible for the development of publicity for Temple programs.  These include the Shabbat printed bulletin, weekly e-newsletter, monthly printed bulletin, Jewish Journal and other press articles.   The membership also reviews the Temple Chai website for content and usability.
